Joe knows The City of Sugar Land - and - Sugar Land knows Joe.

A respected leader, businessman, engineer, Sugar Land City Councilman, former Chairman of the Sugar Land Planning & Zoning Commission and Commissioner, longtime resident, husband of 39 years to his wife Nancy, father and grandfather, an active member of Second Baptist Church Woodway and community volunteer - Sugar Land knows Joe.

Sugar Land knows that Joe is a straight-talking, no-nonsense man who makes his point of view and vision clear. Joe keeps his word. In this day and age, those traits of honesty, integrity and transparency go a long way.

A businessman and engineer by profession and training, Joe knows how things work and how to get things done. He has held senior management positions in a number of industries including consulting engineering, water & wastewater operations, land acquisition & development and homebuilding.

Joe also knows that good people do not always agree. He may differ with you, but always with respect. Joe believes in working together to solve important issues that benefit the Sugar Land community.

A long-time conservative before being conservative was popular,  Joe sticks to his principles.

Joe knows Sugar Land and Sugar Land knows Joe.

I Know Joe

"I know Joe for taking the issues he is confronted with and trying to find the solution to the issue with a 'CAN DO' attitude.  That is why he will be a great Leader and Mayor of our great City".  Harvey Zinn

"Joe has served for our city over the last decade, and I believe he has the unique qualifications to be our next Mayor."  Betty Baitland

"I have known Joe for probably 15 years. During that time I have observed his great integrity in all of his endeavors both business and political.

Joe is a successful business man and has shown his leadership ability in various roles as an engineer and he also served as CEO of Eco Resources for a period of time.

Joe is well qualified to serve as Mayor based on serving 10 years on Planning and Zoning and then 4 years on City Council. He is the man we need to lead Sugar Land through the next few years as great things are happening. I am pleased to be able to support Joe Zimmerman as the next Mayor of Sugar Land." Don Smithers
